Why choose When Life Just Socks and Bauerfeind?
When Life Just Socks is a Vancouver based small business. We provide in-person fittings upon request to ensure the correct fit for Bauerfeind’s medical grade garments.
What type of delivery services are offered?
When Life Just Socks provides:
A delivery service with a $10 charge per order within the Vancouver, Burnaby, Richmond, and Surrey areas. We would be in-touch if you have chosen this option.
A shipping option if you are purchasing from outside our service areas within Canada; the delivery fees will depend on your order (dimensions and weight) and our carrier service provider.
If your order is part of an organized/designated group order from a facility, the delivery is free of charge where the facility or ward is the designated pick up location.
Are in person fittings offered?
Yes, in person fittings are offered for Group Orders. The minimal for group order is eight pairs of compression stockings jointly. Usually this service is offered to staff at hospital wards, or educational institutions, or doctor’s offices with vascular patients, where our certified fitter would provide an in-service to educate customers about compression stockings and it’s benefits. Why do I need to enter my Legal Name, Billing/Mailing Address and Phone Number at Checkout?
Insurance purposes! Many customers who purchase our medical grade compression stockings are covered through their insurance. This information is required on the invoice as to ensure a smooth claim submission outlined by most insurance companies.
What is your return policy?
As this is a custom-fit product, we do not accept returns. If there was an error in the delivered product, such as the wrong size was delivered, please email us at sockitup@whenlifejustsocks.ca
Is there warranty?
The compression of Bauerfeind products is guaranteed for 6 months.
• Claims for manufacturing defects or customer dissatisfaction must be submitted within 30 days of purchase.
• Any product that has been altered, cut, or modified in any way will nullify our guarantee and any warranty on the product. Ex. the tag on our stockings should not be cut.
• Normal wear and tear, or damage due to misuse does not qualify for warranty. Please follow the donning instructions in the product booklet.
• For hygienic reasons, all garments under warranty that have been worn must be laundered before return for inspection.
• Unaccepted products that were sent back under warranty will be returned to the customer, at their expense.

How often should I be replacing my compression stockings?
The compression of Bauerfeind products is guaranteed for six months. Hence, it is recommended that the compression stockings are replaced every six months with regular use, as it would start losing their compression. In general, most insurance companies will cover for 2-4 pairs of medical grade compression stockings annually. Therefore, it should be replaced yearly at the least.
Do I need a Doctor’s Note?
It depends!
If you’re looking for light compression stockings for everyday use to prevent varicose veins (etc), no Doctor’s note or consultation is required given there are no other indications. However, if you’re submitting a claim under insurance, you may need a Doctor’s note to claim - this is dependent on your insurance policy!
If you’re looking for high compression stockings for medical reasons, you should consult your Family Doctor prior to purchasing. As mentioned above, a Doctor’s note may be needed for insurance claims depending on the policy.
How fast is delivery?
It depends! If you’ve chosen the shipping option with our carrier, it will depend on the option you’ve picked; anywhere from few days to 2-3 weeks.
If you’ve chosen local delivery, it will be approximately 2 weeks.
If you’ve chosen Group Order with a designated pick up location, it will be approximately 2 weeks.
This is because each compression stocking is custom ordered from either Quebec or Germany.
